What exactly is a Yt.dll related error and how do i protect against these types of notifications?

Hi Sue, welcome to the forum.

Before we get started with this repair, you need to examine this article completely.

It’s Really important that you do not dismiss some of these steps and carry out everything in the order shown down below.

Make sure that you complete every step until given an ok by me, even if your problems appear to have disappeared. The lack of any symptoms doesn’t necessarily guarantee your error has disappeared.

Make sure you comply with the guidelines properly and do not try to repair anything with out my direction, neither should you operate any alternative scanning software programs unless instructed by me personally or an alternative admin from this message board.

1. Download Reimage from the link below:

-> Reimage Download Link

(Click on the weblink just above and you will then notice a download box pop up like the image beneath. Then choose whether to just click ‘Run’ or you can save it and double-click it from your laptop or computer.)

2. As soon as Reimage has launched it will start a diagnostic scan . (You’ll see a window very similar to the monitor shot below )

3. After the scan is finished, simply click Repair (The repair can take a little while, simply just allow it to do it’s thing.)

4. Once the fix is finished, restart your machine etc. (Look beneath.)

thanks, ran Reimage and rebooted the system. The main issues are gone but I continue to have an random issue with Yt.dll?

That’s alright. We will need to use another application before the restoration is finished.

Warning – only use this application after having performed a complete scan and repair with Reimage just above.

1. Download Driver Detective from the following link and save it to your PC.

Download Driver Detective Link

2. Install and load Driver Detective. It should ask if you’d like to scan your pc, just click the ‘Scan’ button. As soon as it’s finished, it should display the findings of the diagnostic scan; click ‘Next’ and follow the instructions to complete the restoration. More detailed guidelines can be found here.

3. When the application has concluded, you should reboot your pc.

Make sure you report back here with the final results!

Since your computer is nice and clean, to help secure your pc from now on I would suggest you research the following software programs:

Microsoft Windows Update
This will make sure your system always has the most up-to-date security patches. If there are new updates to install, install them immediately, reboot your computer, and revisit the website until there are no other essential updates.

Spyware Doctor – to help protect against viruses, spy ware and malware from installing. Install & update Spyware Doctor.
